MARBLE FALLS — Two passengers in a Toyota sport-utility vehicle escaped a crash with a coach bus Sept. 20 with only minor injuries.

According to Marble Falls Police Officer David Amidon, the driver of the SUV attempted to make a U-turn on eastbound Texas 71 when the bus came came over the hill and could not avoid striking the vehicle.

The SUV flipped onto its roof. The driver of the bus was not injured, Amidon said.

The bus driver was returning to Austin from Horseshoe Bay and had no other passengers.

Amidon said the two occupants of the SUV were returning to Llano. Their names or hometowns were not released.

“They were both transported to the hospital for minor injuries,” Amidon said. “Luckily, they were wearing their seat belts and looked OK.”

The crash happened about 6:40 p.m. and closed the east Texas 71 entrance from northbound U.S. 281 for more than an hour.
