Roger Emmit Grill, 66, of Burnet passed away Sept. 4, 2014. He was born Jan. 23, 1948, in St. Paul, Minn., to Bernard and Isabelle Mable Carle Grill.

He grew up and spent his youth in Little Canada, Minn. 

Roger served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the 1st Air Cavalry Division, in which he served in Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol. Among other decorations, he was awarded the Purple Heart, Air Medal, Bronze Star and Silver Star.

After returning home in 1970, he attended college and, for the past several years, resided in Burnet.  He attended Epiphany Episcopal Church and donated his time as a volunteer at LACare Food Bank.  On Jan. 13, 2011, he married Rebecca Parker Neumann.

Roger is survived by his wife, Rebecca; and was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.  Memorial contributions may be made to Epiphany Episcopal Church.

A graveside service with military honors and interment is 10:30 a.m. Sept. 16 at Forth Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
