Nila (Bauman) Roberts passed away Aug. 22, 2014. She was born May 9, 1943, to Charles W. and Zonia Mae (Key) Bauman in Llano, Texas.

Nila worked at the Llano Credit Bureau, Ratliff Chevrolet and the Llano County Museum and found her calling at the Llano County Sheriff’s Office in 1988. She was chief dispatcher for 13 years and retired July 31, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles W. Bauman Sr., and daughter, Lori Baker.

She is survived by her mother, Zonia Mae Bauman; children Jimmy and wife Rayma Roberts of Llano and Monty and wife Donna of Cherokee; brothers, Charles Bauman and wife Ada Jo and Jay Bauman and wife Dollie; sisters, Kay Eckhardt and husband Charlie and Cheri Rogers and husband Larry; grandchildren, Joshua and Hattie Roberts, Jordan and Karlie Roberts, Markie and J.R. Shaw, Duncan and Mysti Roberts, Kaitlyn Smith, Zachary Boultinghouse, Theron Boultinghouse, Mason Baker and Sydney Baker; and great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Jacob, Ethan, Easton, Weston and Thadley Roberts. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was Aug. 24 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300, with Bill Wolfe and Ervin Light officiating.

Pallbearers were Larry Rogers, Ricky Baker, Craig Bauman, Charlie Eckhardt, Darren Eckhardt and Ted Christopher. Honorary pallbearers were her many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cherokee Home for Children, the American Cancer Association or the American Association.
