Doris Laverne Reinhardt, 81, of Burnet, Texas, passed away Aug. 22, 2014. She was born Oct. 11, 1932, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, to Claude and Alta Jones.

Laverne lived with her husband, Charlie, in Ville Platte, La., for 30 years before moving to Burnet three years ago. She enjoyed camping and fishing with him and loved her cats dearly. Most of all, she enjoyed her friends and family.

Laverne is survived by her daughters Phyllis and husband Blake Johanson of Burnet and Charlotte and husband Dan Ayres of Houston; sons, Rick and wife Beverly Vickers of Paris, Texas, and Charles and wife Mary Reinhardt of Spring. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Reinhardt; parents, Claude and Alta Jones; brothers, Claude L. Jones and A.C. “Bud” Jones; sister, Jessie Mae Price; and daughter Vicki Lynn Pritchett.

The family would like to thank the staff at Windchimes Assisted Living and her personal caregivers, especially Linda Kay Roberson, Dina Ward, Penny Brown and Trina Murilla.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Aug. 26 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222. A graveside service is 2 p.m. Aug. 27 at Hickory Hill Cemetery in Mount Pleasant. Contributions may be made in her honor to Hickory Hill Cemetery Perpetual Care, 3265 CR 4550, Mount Pleasant, TX 75455; or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
