OBITUARY: Benjamin Raymond Russell, 60, of Kingsland died Aug. 18, 2014
Benjamin “Benny” Raymond Russell, 60, of Kingsland passed away Aug. 18, 2014. He was born to Raymond Flem and Willie Mae (Bouis) Russell on Dec. 3, 1953, in Iraan, Texas.
Mr. Russell proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was raised in Kermit, Texas. He worked in the oil field and was a security guard until he became disabled as a result of service to his country while in the Navy.
He married LaDonna Holbrook on April 6, 1989, and lived in Kingsland for the last 24 years.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, LaDonna Russell of Kingsland; children, Brandy Elaine Russell and Benjamin “Buck” Raymond Russell III; stepchildren, Mickey Reynolds and Randy Reynolds; four siblings; numerous nieces and nephews; special longtime friend, Larry Underwood; and daughter-in-law, Kelly Russell.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, one sister and one brother.
A memorial service is 10 a.m. Aug. 22 at Cross and Spurs Cowboy Church in Buchanan Dam with Johnny Sawyer and Mike McCravey officiating and full military honors by the Highland Lakes Honor Guard.
