Joan Kathleen Hutcheson died July 31, 2014, at the age of 81. She was born Joan Kathleen Fox on Dec. 29, 1932, to John and Kathleen Fox in Aylsham, Norfolk, England.

She grew up in the pastoral countryside of East Anglia, where she attended Underwood Business College.

After graduating, she worked for five years for a life insurance company, where she met her future husband, Bobby Hutcheson, an Air Force officer stationed in England. After his return to America, Joan emigrated in 1953, and they were married in Riverside, Calif. They spent the next 20 years in the military stationed in various bases across the United States. Along the way, they were blessed with three children: Rhoda, Michael and Bobby. They had a good life in the service, but her husband, Bobby, passed in 1982.

Years later, she would meet the love of her life in Lloyd Sanders. They would spend the next 22 years together enjoying the Texas Hill Country, where they built a house in Kingsland, Texas. Lloyd came from a large family of nephews and nieces and aunts and uncles. Joan, being an only child, relished having a large family. Many years were spent basking on the waters of Lake LBJ at family get-togethers on every occasion — especially the Fourth of July — and spending time traveling with Lloyd’s work, fishing with him on the lake or just taking sunset cruises in their boat. When Lloyd took ill in 2013, she was by his side every moment until his death earlier this year.

Joan was preceded in life by her parents, John and Kathleen Fox; husband Bobby Hutcheson; son, Michael Hutcheson; and her love, Lloyd Sanders.

She leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will all cherish her wonderful spirit and kind, giving nature.
