School supply drive helping Burnet County foster children
FROM STAFF REPORTS
BURNET — One of the exciting parts of heading back to class is opening up those new school supplies — all fresh and ready for a year of learning.
Unfortunately, not every child gets a full backpack of supplies. Children in foster care face the prospect of the first of class without all the necessities. But you can help make their first day fun and exciting, too.
The Burnet County Child Welfare Board, which serves the needs of the foster children in Burnet County, is asking for donations of back-to-school supplies.
Some of the items needed include pens, pencils, crayons, erasers, wide-ruled paper, wide-ruled spiral notebooks, wide-tip washable markers and small, hand-held calculators.
