OBITUARY: Don Ray Reed, 72, of Llano dies June 6, 2014
Don Ray Reed of Llano passed away June 6, 2014, at the age of 72. He was born March 14, 1942, in Llano to Alvernia (Moseley) and Raymond Reed.
He married Elizabeth “Betty” McWilliams on Dec. 20, 1958, in Ardmore, Okla.
Don loved hunting, fishing, gardening and playing pool. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Don was a lifelong resident of Llano and a master electrician. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a member of Kingdom Hall of Llano.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; sons, Allan and wife Jo and Larry Don and wife Cathy; brother, Gary; grandchildren, Jeremy, Courtney and Cameron; great-grandson, Gavyn, and his little brother-to-be, Colin, all of Llano.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvernia and Raymond Reed, and sister, Candace Lee Reed.
A memorial service was June 15 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300, with Chad Brazell officiating.
