Jim “Cork” McCorquodale, 76, of Kingsland, Texas, passed away June 7, 2014. He was born in Big Spring, Texas, on June 23, 1937, to J.A. and Maxine (Crouch) McCorquodale.

Cork was a lifelong rancher, a member of the Southwestern Cattleman’s Association and a roper. He enjoyed golf, poker and roping.

Cork was bigger than life and lived it to its fullest.

He is survived by his wife, Diane McCorquodale of Kingsland; daughter, Mary Kay Wood and husband Tom of Florence; son, Clay McCorquodale of Florence; grandchildren, Ben (Kristin) Wood, Rebecca (Josh) Searfoss, Colton McCorquodale and Christina Williams; great-grandchildren, Molly, Jayden, Bryce and Blain; stepson, Martin Glover; brother, Max Crouch McCorquodale; dear friends Troy Fox and Jody Jones; and his dog, Patches.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother Alby Crouch; grandfather Oscar Crouch; and step-grandfather, Shorty Bigby.

A celebration of life service is 11 a.m. June 11 at Honey Creek Cemetery in Llano. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
