OBITUARY: Rhonda Tay Reeder, formerly of Llano, dies June 1, 2014
On June 1, 2014, Rhonda Tay (Goff) Reeder lost her long and difficult battle with cancer. Tay loved her family and was blessed to be surrounded by them even to the end.
Tay and David, her husband of 28 years, loved to entertain, and their house was always filled with the warmth and laughter of family and friends.
Tay graduated from Llano High School in 1982. She and David met while attending Tarleton State University, and they married on Aug. 9, 1986. Tay then received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Tyler and her CPA in 1990. She worked her way up through various accounting positions and ended her career as a partner at Grant Thornton in Atlanta.
They retired to Spring Branch in 2013.
Tay is survived by her husband, David Wayne Reeder; granddaughter Joslyn Tay Reeder, who is the daughter of their son Jordan and his partner Miranda VanWagoner of San Marcos; and by their youngest son, Jared, also of San Marcos.
She was preceded in death by their oldest son, Collin.
Her immediate family includes her mother and stepfather, Mary and Garry Curry of Bertram; her father and stepmother, Roy and LaVerne Goff of Llano; and her grandmother Nora Oehler of Fredericksburg. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Emily and Sergio Morales of Austin and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service is 3 p.m. June 4 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano. Interment will follow at Llano City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Association.
