On June 2, 2014, at 1:06 in the afternoon, Jimmy Alphanzo Morgan, who entered this material existence Jan. 22, 1937, from the bosom of God, was returned to his God and Creator. His earthly body, having served the use and purposes the Creator ordained, was returned to the ground from which all such life has and will originate.

There is not under Heaven words enough to be written that could begin to encompass the varied and intricate parts of this patriarch’s deeds and accomplishments, nor canvas or frame that could border or contain the sum of the profound and immense life which God utilized to show His glory through the frailty, failings, strengths, love and honor of such a singular and nearly heroic figure as Jimmy was to his most treasured family and those throughout his life he knew as friends.

As much as can be written in such limited space and lacking the years it would require to recount his legacy and accomplishments. Let it then be known that he was born to parents, Hiram Francis Morgan and Mildred Adell Overstreet Morgan, and had been preceded in meeting his maker by his parents, sister, Jane Morgan Deats, and brother Bobby Morgan.

Remaining in this world to carry on the torch flame of his enduring example and memory are his love and most affectionate and caring wife, Winnie J. Tate Morgan, mother to his three children, Belinda “Binky” Morgan and husband Ron, Keith Morgan and wife Susan and Cindy Faubion and husband Frank; brother and lifelong friend Kenneth Morgan and Lucy Tate; and grandchildren, Jesika Farmer and husband Mike, Autumn Williams and husband Cody, Grant Morgan, Zachary Morgan and Tate Morgan. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Echo Farmer, Epic Farmer, Morrigan Williams and Silas Williams; his faithful ranch hand and brother-in-law, Henry “Jake” Tate; as well as his loving brother and sister-in law, Sam and Jill Tate; and his sister’s only child, Flay Deats.

As intensely personal as he lived his life with careful and loving attention to those who were dearest and closest to his heart and spirit, he was committed to the earth in a wooden casket, crafted by those who loved him, at the ancestral burial grounds of his wife’s family, whom he loved as his own, attended by those who he cherished, and will be so sorely and terribly missed by all of us who continue on in his shadow.

May the God of Mercy and love cherish his soul forever and lift the hearts and countenance of those of us yet to join them in our Heavenly Home.

Services conducted by the Rev. Ron Anderson.
