OBITUARY: Edward Mario Do, 84, of Kingsland dies May 30, 2014

Edward Mario Do, 84, of Kingsland, Texas, passed away May 30, 2014. He was born to Marino and Marie (Tua) Do on July 9, 1929, in Creskill, N.J.
After receiving his bachelor’s degree in marine engineering from the New York Maritime Academy, Mr. Do served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Fort Schuyler Maritime Alumni Association.
Early in his career, he worked on numerous projects at Cape Canaveral including the Mercury 7 Project and the Apollo Booster Rocket. At Pullman Kellogg, he worked as a design engineer, setting engineering standards that are still utilized in the field today. He enjoyed working in the engineering industry and was well respected throughout his field and in his personal life.
Edward lived in the Texas Hill Country for more than 30 years, first in Sunrise Beach and then in Kingsland, where he resided with his wife, Katie. While in Sunrise Beach, he was a consultant during the updating of the Sunrise Beach Water Department Authority. He served on the grand jury in Llano County and also helped Child Protective Services in mentoring troubled youths. After retirement, he continued to be involved in various business and real estate ventures.
He always enjoyed a good story and loved passing on the malarkey. One of his greatest pleasures was riding in his “Mule” with his two dogs, Apple and Shadow, riding shotgun.
Edward is survived by his wife, Kathryn “Katie” Do of Kingsland; sons, Gary Do of Houston and Tommy Do of New Orleans; stepson, Jason Moyer and wife Angela of Cedar Park; stepdaughter, Stacy Woods and husband Mark of San Antonio; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Linda Lobman; and grandmother, his wonderful “Granda.”
