Tannie Jo Dees, 76, of Sunrise Beach Village, Texas, passed away May 11, 2014. She was born to James W. and Nina R. (Hilton) Morgan on Sept. 30, 1937, in Atlanta, Ga.

Tannie was a member of Sunrise Beach Federated Church in Sunrise Beach Village and filled many roles there including singing in the choir. Mrs. Dees also was a member of the Sunrise Beach Volunteer Fire Department Auxillary and the Sunrise Beach “Beachers” Lawn Chair Brigade, and she recently participated in A Walk to Emmaus. She loved playing cards, especially bridge, and enjoyed her family and cooking.

Tannie Dees was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend to all.

Tannie is survived by her husband, James “Pete” Dees of Sunrise Beach Village; son, Carl Ginsberg and wife Cindy of Hoover’s Valley; daughter, Georgia Ann Ginsberg of Huntington Beach, Calif.; stepsons, Daniel Dees and wife Jennifer of Lockhart and Jimmy Dees and wife Wanda of Kyle; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Jim Morgan and wife Irma of Phoenix, Arizona.

Mrs. Dees was preceded in death by her parents and a previous husband, Hubert Mathew Ginsberg.

A memorial service is 11 a.m. May 16 at Sunrise Beach Federated Church, 105 E. Lakeshore Drive in Sunrise Beach Village, with the Rev. John Alsup officiating.
