Teen dead after rollover off rural road in Tobeyville

TOBEYVILLE — A 19-year-old man died following an Easter evening one-vehicle rollover just north of FM 1980 about four miles northwest of Marble Falls, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Dylan Fread, a passenger in a 2001 Monte Carlo, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:26 p.m. April 20 by Burnet County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Calvin Boyd.
The driver, 19-year-old Steven Lee Terry of Cottonwood Shores, was taken to Seton-Williamson County in stable condition.
The crash, reported at 7:05 p.m., occurred after the driver “disregarded a stop sign at the T intersection” of CR 120 and CR 123, the report stated.
“(The car) crossed over (CR)120 leaving the road, striking a wire fence and several large trees, rolled several times to land on its top in a pasture,” according to the report.
The vehicle was traveling at a “high rate of speed,” the report stated.
DPS troopers are still investigating the accident.
