MARBLE FALLS — Power was restored to much of Marble Falls and Meadowlakes about 7:40 a.m. April 15 after an outage.

Pedernales Electric Cooperative crews switched to generator power to operate the substation in the 2600 block of RR 1431 West of Marble Falls. A small fire at the substation was reported about 6:45 a.m.

Fire crews responded, and the fire was burned out. The outage extended as far west as FM 1980 and as far east as U.S. 281.

The two elementary schools in Marble Falls lost power. Highland Lakes Elementary School in Granite Shoals, six miles west of town, and Marble Falls High School retained power.

School is proceeding as scheduled. PEC is investigating the cause of the fire
