Wesley “Wes” Earl Tharp of Llano, Texas, passed away peacefully April 4, 2014, at the age of 70. He was born Nov. 13, 1943, to Tommie and Wilma (Poole) Tharp in Sunflower County, Mississippi.

He was a resident of Llano since 2010, coming from Tennessee.

Wesley was a member of Lutie Watkins United Methodist Church, the Lions Club and the American Legion of Llano.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Terry Tharp.

Survivors include wife, Linda Tumlinson-Tharp of Llano; son, Ken Tharp of Lexington, Ky.; daughter, Kimberley Ballard of Olive Branch, Mo.; brother Tony Tharp of Oriental, N.C.; sister, Jeanette Diamond of Greenville, Mo.; grandchildren, Lauren Ballard, Landon Ballard and Nicholas Tharp; and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no local services, but a memorial service will be held in his hometown at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors program.
