OBITUARY: Helen Shipley, 90, of Kingsland dies April 3, 2014
Helen Shipley of Kingsland, Texas, passed away peacefully April 3, 2014, at the age of 90. She was born Feb. 13, 1924, in Unionville, Mo., to Clovie and Gail (Kinton) Davis.
Helen married Leonard Shipley on Feb. 6, 1945, in Nashua, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1996. She also was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Charles and Larry Davis.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Kingsland and Kingsland Community Church.
Survivors include son, Michael Shipley and wife Ellen of Rockwall; daughter, Cheryll Howard and husband Clete of Springtown; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four nieces.
A funeral service is 11 a.m. April 7 at Kingsland Community Church with the Revs. Tommie Beck, Dick West and Todd Shipley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kingsland Community Church or the Kingsland Branch Library.
