Alvin Dean Clanin, 58, of Kingsland, Texas, passed away March 25, 2014. He was born to Bethel Janice Robinson Clanin on April 25, 1955, in St. Louis, Mo.

Alvin, known by his friends as “Big Al,” was a gentle, loving soul with a big heart and a Christian man who helped everyone he could. He was able to beat cancer several years ago and enjoyed the Relay for Life every year in Marble Falls.

He enjoyed fixing things, fishing, camping and just the world around him. He was a member of the Kingsland Lions Club in Kingsland.

He touched many lives and will be dearly missed by many.

Mr. Clanin is survived by a son, Michael Clanin of Dupo, Ill., and longtime special caring friends, Terri and Randy Parkman of Marble Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation is 10 a.m. April 2 at Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be held at Leadwood Cemetery in Leadwood, Mo.
