Burnet tennis duo places second at Copperas Cove

COPPERAS COVE — Burnet High School tennis players participated in the Copperas Cove Spring Break Invitational on March 7.
In mixed doubles, the team of Price Carpenter and Hailey Wilson posted a 2-1 record to finish in second place.
The boys doubles team of Cable Anders and Luke Webb won the consolation bracket with a 3-1 record, while the team of Caleb Cardoza and Brian Bullock finished sixth with a 2-2 record and the team of Austin Hall and Austin Crain posted a 1-1 record.
In girls doubles, the team of Micayla Light and Brooke Hemphill earned a 2-1 record.
The Burnet junior varsity team also performed well at the Llano Invitational on March 7, coach Tammy Hullum said.
Tyler Lyons placed second in boys singles, while the mixed-doubles team of Seth Timmons and Kymbra Curley also finished second.
“Seth and Kymbra played mixed doubles for the first time and still played well,” Hullum said.
