LLANO — The Lady Mustangs golf team won the Llano Invitational with a team score of 334, which set a new school record.
“This bettered the 2008 record by 19 strokes,” head coach Lonnie Tackitt said, “and it beat district rival Leander, which won second, by 21.”
That also means six Marble Falls golfers set or tied new personal bests for a round. The tournament drew 94 players. Shelcee Clark finished in second place and Blaire Hambrick placed fifth.
The Marble Falls boys team shot a 347 for seventh place out of 16 teams. It had 82 players.
Ben Mezger led the way by finishing in fourth place. He won a three-way playoff on the first hole with a par.
Burnet won the boys division with a 324.
