OBITUARY: Orville Newton Weeks, 89, of Granite Shoals dies Feb. 13, 2014

Orville Newton Weeks, 89, of Granite Shoals passed away Feb. 13, 2014. He was born July 2, 1924, in Lamesa, Texas, to Thomas Alvin and Naomi Weeks.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Weeks of Granite Shoals; son, Benny Weeks of Arlington; daughters, Norma Jones of Tulsa, Okla., and Martha Ann Weeks of Marble Falls; brothers Harold Weeks of Chandler and Vernon Weeks of Bullard; and sister Bobbie White of Arizona. Orville is also survived by six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and his parents.

Orville served in the Army for two years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Granite Shoals. He enjoyed farming, playing dominoes and spending time with his family and was an avid fisherman.

A memorial service is 2 p.m. Feb. 17 at First Baptist Church of Granite Shoals.
