Burnet swimmer headed to state meet; team 18th overall at regional competition

MAGNOLIA — Senior Seth Timmons qualified for the state meet as the Burnet High School swimming team finished 18th overall at the Region 5-4A swimming and diving championships Feb. 7-8.
The boys squad was 16th overall.
Timmons will compete in the 500-meter freestyle and the 200-meter freestyle at the state competition Feb. 21-22 in Austin.
Coach Nancy Moore said Timmons broke the 200 freestyle team record time and also set a new pool record in that same event. In addition, Timmons also is the team record holder for the 500 freestyle, which he has broken three times.
