FREDERICKSBURG — The Marble Falls High School boys soccer team lost 4-2 to Fredericksburg on Jan. 31.
The Mustangs (9-3-1) trailed 3-0 at the half.
“(We) played (a) terrible first half,” Marble Falls head coach Rick Hoover said. “We were flat (and) looked very slow in (the) first half.”
So Hoover outlined the players’ options during the break.
“They had two choices: Lay down and let this continue or step up and play like we know how,” he said. “(I’m) very proud of (the) second half.”
Marble Falls had five shots either hit the post or missing by inches, Hoover said.
“We had them on the ropes but just couldn’t get the ball in back of the net,” he said. “(The) big positive is that we refused to quit, even when we were down 3-0.”
