OBITUARY: Robert Frank Hawkins Jr., 68, of Llano dies Jan. 22, 2014
Robert Frank Hawkins Jr., 68, passed away Jan. 22, 2014, in Round Rock, Texas. He was born Jan. 20, 1946, in Mayersville, Miss., to Robert Frank Sr. and Marzella (Crane) Hawkins.
He was a resident of Llano, Texas, since 1980, coming from Katy, Texas.
Robert was a member of the Llano Golf Association. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a great storyteller. He was very active in Little League and assisted in organizing P.I.E. He served on the board of the Special Opportunity Center and enjoyed to bowl.
Robert loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Tracy, brother Johnny and sister Peggy.
Survivors include wife Nancy Hahn Hawkins of Llano; son, Matthew Hawkins of Llano; daughters Terri Gonzalez of Llano and Stephanie and husband David Vaughn of Katy; sisters Faye Ann Brewer, Rosena Ahrlett and Doris Hall, all of Llano; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was Jan. 26 at First Baptist Church in Llano with the Rev. Rick Cundieff officiating. A graveside service followed at Bethel Cemetery in Burnet County.
Pallbearers were Gordon Holcomb, Eddie Hughes, Bozo Hoskins, Jerry Don Moss, Johnny Hawkins Jr. and Everett Moore. Honorary pallbearers were Lynn Mosier, Robert Zuber, Eddie Overstreet, Jearl Carl, Glen Tribble and Irvin Ahrlett.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
