Sleet and snow expected overnight and into the morning in the Highland Lakes

MARBLE FALLS — A mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow is expected late Jan. 23 and early Jan. 24 for the Highland Lakes, making morning commutes a little tricky.

Drivers could see snow flurries and icy patches on roads and overpasses the morning of Jan. 24.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures should fall to right above freezing by 5 p.m. Jan. 23 with a chance of freezing rain and sleet starting around 7 p.m. and potentially turning into snow overnight with a possible accumulation of less than one inch.

The overnight low is expected to be about 26 degrees.

The snow and sleet could continue until about 11 a.m. Jan. 24, turning into freezing rain and sleet through noon, according to NWS. The high is expected to be near 40 with a low of 29.

Warmer weather returns over the weekend with mostly sunny skies and a high near 62 on Jan. 25 and 71 on Jan. 26, according to NWS.
