MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls High School girls soccer team defeated Austin McCallum 4-2 on Jan. 14.

Lady Mustangs head coach Trey Young was pleased with how they won. Not only did Marble Falls (3-0-2) score multiple goals, each one was made by a different player.

“We won through sharper passing and possession, and our crossing led to a lot of offense,” he said. “Very nice to see a range of girls contributing to offense.”

Defensively, the Lady Mustangs’ clean sheet ended. Those two goals were the opponents’ first against Marble Falls in five games. But Young said the goals are the result of his players continuing to get to know each other and understanding their roles. In short, he believes what led to the opponent’s goals can be fixed.

“Our defense actually played well again, too,” he said.
