Marble Falls girls basketball loses district game to Cedar Park, places 2nd at tourney
FROM STAFF REPORTS
MARBLE FALLS — After placing second at a tournament over the holiday break, the Marble Falls High School girls basketball team was unable to continue its upward trend in District 25-4A action.
The Lady Mustangs (12-10, 0-3) lost 71-43 to Cedar Park on Dec. 31.
Marble Falls only trailed 29-25 at the half.
“But (Cedar Park) dominated the second half from the get go,” Marble Falls head coach Chris Jost said.
At the Cameron Christmas Classic on Dec. 27-28, the Lady Mustangs won three consecutive games before losing 54-40 to Brenham in the championship.
Marble Falls defeated Bruceville Eddy 54-36, Thrall 46-31 and North Zulch 80-10.
“Still a work in progress,” Jost said. “Looking for consistency of effort and execution as well as ability to play through adversity. We also need consistent help from our bench.”
