AUSTIN — The Faith Academy of Marble Falls girls basketball team slipped by Austin McCallum 43-40 on Dec. 20.
It was a tale of two halves. The Lady Flames took an 11-7 lead after the first quarter that went to 24-13 by the half.
But in the second half, McCallum outscored Faith 15-10 to trim the deficit to 34-28.
“I thought we matched their aggressiveness with a good press break and tough man defense,” Lady Flames head coach Jerry English said.
McCallum featured three players who stand at least 6 feet 1 inch.
English commended senior posts Juliette Fisher and Joanna Piatek for their play against the 6-footers.
“I thought Juliette and Jojo fought them on every play, and we got some strong off-ball help from the rest of our team,” he said.
