OBITUARY: Bernice ‘Bobbie’ Simmons, 90, of Sunrise Beach dies Dec. 11, 2013

Bernice “Bobbie” Simmons, 90, of Sunrise Beach, Texas, passed away Dec. 11, 2013. She was born to John J. and Fredericka (Pivonka) Peters in Caldwell, Texas, on Aug. 20, 1923.

Bobbie was a homemaker and a loving, precious person. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Kingsland, Texas, attended Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Sunrise Beach, was a member of the Republican Women’s Club and was on the altar society in Midland, Texas.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Bill O. and Pam Simmons Jr. of Midland and Paul D. and Kandi Simmons of Sunrise Beach; two granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; brother George M. Peters of Midland; sister Clara Holloman of San Angelo; and 10 nieces.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill O. Simmons Sr.; brother James S. Peters; and sisters Earlene Peters-Mills and Ida Peters-Marshall.

Visitation is 6-7 p.m. Dec. 18 at Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008, with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. The Liturgy is 10 a.m. Dec. 19 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Kingsland. Burial is 10 a.m. Dec. 20 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Stanton.
