MEADOWLAKES — Buying for the family golfer is much easier than making an 8-foot putt, according to Jeff Wilson, Hidden Falls Golf Club general manager and head golf professional.
He suggests purchasing a round of golf at the family member’s favorite course.
“This time of year, it’s the most popular item by far,” he said. “(Shoppers) may not know what brand of ball (golfers) like to play with. Golfers will play various courses. They all look for the best deal. But each golfer has a couple of courses they like to play.”
And this time of year, Wilson said pro shops usually have deals if shoppers have a list of golf items that need to be bought.
At Hidden Falls, 220 Meadowlakes Drive, Wilson is conducting his annual Share a Christmas Sale, during which shoppers may bring in an unwrapped toy and $2 or two canned goods and $2 in exchange for a sealed envelope.
Patrons shop for items and then open the envelope at the register. Inside is a discount the shopper gets on the entire purchase.
The canned goods and the toys benefit The Helping Center of Marble Falls.
Wilson owns the pro shop and took over the course four years ago.
“A golf course is a great asset for a community,” Wilson said. “We feel they help benefit the overall community to make Meadowlakes, Marble Falls and the entire community look good. We do feel a part of the community, and we want to make the area proud of have this facility.”
