FROM STAFF REPORTS

BURNET — The Burnet High School girls basketball team fell 60-34 to Killeen High on Nov. 12.

The Lady Dawgs (2-1) trailed 12-8 after the opening period.

“They were good,” Burnet head coach Doug Messer said. “They’re about as good as I’ve seen Killeen. They were very, very disciplined and very in-your-face.”

Even though the Lady Roos quickly seized control of the contest, Messer complimented his players for their energy.

“Our effort was there,” he said. “We talked about focus and finishing. Mentally, they took us out. They gave us all we wanted. It was good for us to play that caliber of team.”
