OBITUARY: Marion Lee Thomas Richerson, 86, of Llano dies Nov. 9, 2013
Marion Lee Thomas Richerson was born to Charlotte West Thomas and O.D. Thomas on Nov. 9, 1927, in Berwyn, Okla. She passed away the morning of her 86th birthday on Nov. 9, 2013, at Llano Nursing and Rehabilitation in Llano.
Mrs. Richerson grew up and went to school in Berwyn, playing girls half-court basketball and graduating in 1945 from Berwyn High School as salutatorian of her class. From there, she entered Texas Women’s University to complete one year before she had to return home to Berwyn to help her widowed mother with the family income.
She married Burton Allen Richerson on Feb. 15, 1950, in Madill, Okla.
Mrs. Richerson and her husband and first child, Cynthia, moved from Ardmore, Okla., to Odessa in 1957. She retired from El Paso Products Co. Although she grew up a Methodist, she was a Baptist and a member of Westover Baptist Church in Odessa.
The survivor of Mrs. Richerson is her daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Lynn Richerson of Llano.
She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, three brothers and two sisters. Her son, Allen Thomas Richerson, followed her in death in the early morning hours of Nov. 10, 2013.
Memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church in Llano.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
