VOLLEYBALL: Marble Falls loses to Vandegrift; Burnet falls to Gatesville; Burnet Middle School
FROM STAFF REPORTS
Leander Vandegrift def. Marble Falls High School
AUSTIN — The Marble Falls High School volleyball team lost to Leander Vandegrift 18-25, 18-25, 19-25 on Oct. 25.
Still, Lady Mustangs head coach Julie Downs said she saw plenty of positives during the match.
“We played a much more consistent match than we have in the last few games,” she said. “We finally took the lead in two different sets but allowed errors to still dominate the game. The Lady Mustangs by far outhustled and outplayed the Vipers, but hitting and passing errors cost us the win.”
Marble Falls will take a bye Oct. 22 and use the time to continue fundraising efforts for the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Fund.
The Lady Mustangs are conducting their “Pink Out” Cedar Park Vista Ridge during the matches Oct. 25 at Max Copeland Gym, 2101 Mustang Drive, where they will have a silent auction and a wall of honor. T-shirts can be purchased for $10.
“We encourage everyone to join us in a great night of volleyball and fundraising in an effort to increase awareness of the burdens that are placed on cancer victims and their families,” Downs said.
