FROM STAFF REPORTS
ROUND ROCK — Scott and White Healthcare has named Ernie Bovio as the new CEO for the Hill Country region, as Kevin Leeper steps down from the position to pursue health-consulting ventures, officials announced.
Bovio, the Round Rock region CEO for the past eight years, will combine his current duties with those of the Hill Country region position, according to a statement.
“As a group from our Hill Country region, we all thank Kevin for his leadership over the last 12 years,” said Randall Grimshaw, a family medicine physician and the chief medical officer for the Hill Country region. “We will continue our mission of making our communities better by helping those in need and strengthening our teams and our organization so that we are continuously improving the care we provide.”
The Hill Country region is comprised of clinics and healthcare facilities in Marble Falls, Johnson City, Kingsland, Llano, Mason and San Saba. A regional medical facility is under construction at the intersection of U.S. 281 and Texas 71 in Marble Falls.
Leeper first served as administrator of Llano Memorial Hospital before transitioning to CEO of the Hill Country region, after Scott and White acquired the Llano facility.
“I wish future leadership the best in meeting targeted outcomes and healthy successes for all of our residents that deserve just that,” Leeper said. “I personally am going to be exploring some new opportunities in the healthcare-consulting world but will be keeping an eye on the progress.”
