The Flames (6-0) earned their 16th conscutive regular-season victory. The Royals (1-4) are on a three-game losing streak.
“We played well, we played well early in the game,” Faith head coach Russ Roberts said. “We had a chance to get a lot of kids in late in the game.”
Junior running back Royale Brown ran 68 yards for a touchdown to start the scoring and then added another scoring run of seven yards.
Junior Hanner Shipley scored on a two-yard plunge, while senior quarterback Austin Ellis added the two-point run for a 21-0 lead.
Senior Matt Manley intercepted a pass and ran in for a 22-yard touchdown.
Shipley hauled in a 15-yard reception for a 35-0 advantage at the half.
Sophomore Jacob Metcalf ran in a 40-yard touchdown to start the second half.
Freshman Dalton Mayberry added a 5-yard touchdown run to round out the scoring.
Brown finished with 9 rushes for 186 yards and two touchdowns, while Mayberry had 13 rushes for 94 yards and a touchdown. As a team Faith rushed 35 times for 368 yards and recorded 396 yards of total offense while holding St. Gerard to 159 yards of total offense.
Roberts said he was pleased with the number of explosive plays his team had for scores.
“We didn’t want to give them a reason to believe,” he said. “I think we broke their spirit.”
