OBITUARY: Mack ‘Mac’ Olen Gray, 86, formerly of Kingsland, dies Oct. 2, 2013

Mack “Mac” Olen Gray, 86, of Floresville, Texas, and formerly of Kingsland, passed away Oct. 2, 2013. He was born to William McMurrian and Gladys Velma (McNeil) Gray on May 18, 1927, in Lytle, Texas.
Mr. Gray proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and Air Force during World War II, the Korean conflict and Vietnam, retiring from the Air Force as a master sergeant on May 1, 1972, at Ellington Air Force Base, Texas. After his discharge, Mac was employed by and retired from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office as a computer programmer, taught data processing at the Manpower School of Business and worked as an engineer for Ameripan Oil in Chicago.
Mac is survived by daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Joe of League City; grandchildren, Gene, Allen, Mark, Joshua, Jordan, Shanna, Crystal, Scott and Brandonl; and siblings Preston, Jim, Henry, Dee and Mary Nell.
Mac was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris Jeanette; son, Tim; daughters Karen and Barbara Lynn; and sister Pauline.
A funeral service is 11 a.m. Oct. 7 at Walnut United Methodist Church with burial following at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet. Officiating will be the Rev. Grady Roe and the Highland Lakes Honor Guard.
