Marble Falls volleyball squad falls to state-ranked Dripping Springs

DRIPPING SPRINGS — The Marble Falls HIgh School volleyball team lost to Dripping Springs 12-25, 11-25 and 16-25 on Sept. 20.
The Lady Tigers are ranked in the top 10 in Class 4A by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.
ON OFFENSE: Kills – Makenzie Carpenter 6, Hanna Wall 4, Amanda Thomas 3; assists – Haley Coulter 16; aces – Shelbi Wyatt 1, Thomas 1, Carpenter 1
ON DEFENSE: Blocks – Jackie Winn 1; digs – Taylor Brackenridge 6, Thomas 5, Wyatt 4, Lacie Long 4
SUBVARSITY RESULTS: Marble Falls freshmen lost 17-25, 18-25; Marble Falls junior varsity lost 11-25, 16-25
QUOTABLE: “The Lady Mustangs fought against the well-oiled volleyball machine from Dripping Springs but were unsuccessful in winning a set,” Marble Falls head coach Julie Downs said.
RECORDS: Marble Falls varsity is 10-17-1 overall and 0-3 in District 25-4A play; Dripping Springs is 27-8 overall and 3-0 in district.
UP NEXT: Marble Falls vs. Leander Vandegrift on Sept. 24 at Max Copeland Gym, 2101 Mustang Drive in Marble Falls. Subvarsity matches at 5:30 p.m. with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
