Burnet girls cross-country takes second at Bradley Invitational

GATESVILLE — The Burnet High School cross-country teams got an early glimpse of the District 8-3A course when they ran in the Bill Bradley Invitational on Sept. 19.
The Lady Dawgs were second out of 17 teams.
“Once again, the girls’ top five runners were 50 seconds apart from each other,” head coach Stuart Dixon said. “They are now starting to see this type of grouping helps them be successful.”
The meet also saw the return of Joe Parker, who competed in the boys junior varsity division and medaled. Parker hasn’t competed because of personal reasons.

Junior varsity (73 runners) – 6, Joe Parker, 19:45; 46, Jordan Killebrew, 23:36; 65, Caden Farrell, 26:45. Girls varsity (120 runners) — 8, Autumn Freasier, 12:5; 12, Jordan Boyles, 13:01; 14, Abby Bullock, 13:04; 21, Tara Evers, 13:17; 34, Shaylah Hullum, 13:48; 56, Hailey Letterman, 14:47. QUOTABLE: “This meet helped us in our preparation for our district meet Oct. 23 from not only getting familiar with the course but also familiar with all our district competitors whom were present at the meet,” Dixon said.
