Lucille M. Bode passed away Sept. 19, 2013, at the age of 97. She was born Jan. 1, 1916, in Cherokee, Texas, to Boyd Hanna and Mabel Christian Hanna. She Married Theodore J. “Ted” Bode on Dec. 28, 1935, in Brady, Texas, and was a lifetime resident of San Saba County.

Lucille is survived by sons Ken Bode and Judy Hanks of Voca and Tooter Bode and wife Pat of San Antonio; daughters Lugenia Capps of Pontotoc and Vicky Barker and husband Kim of Cherokee; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore “Ted” Bode; parents; daughter Sara Kuykendall; son Richard Bode; and two brothers, Clayton and Bob Hanna.

Pallbearers will be Ken Bode, Tooter Bode, Richard Bode, Rusty Capps, Bode Barker and Clay Bode. Honorary pallbearers will be T.J. Webster, Marty Gray, Harold Barber and Zane Bode.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Sept. 20 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300. A funeral service is 1 p.m. Sept. 21 at the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Bowden officiating. Burial will follow at Pontotoc Cemetery.
