Burnet cross-country teams place in top 10 at Pflugerville meet

FROM STAFF REPORTS
AUSTIN — The Burnet High School cross-country teams ran in the small schools divisions of the Pflugerville Invitational on Sept. 13.
The girls varsity was second out of nine teams led by Tara Evers, who placed 12th, which was good enough for a medal.
“One reason for their success was that the time differential between the number one runner and the number five runner was 45 seconds,” Burnet head coach Stuart Dixon said. “This is a first in about six years since a Burnet girls varsity cross-country team has placed that high in a meet, so a great way to start a season.”
The varsity boys finished seventh out of 12 squads and were led by freshman Drew Kiser, who was third and earned a medal.
