On the morning of Sept. 11, 2013, Brian Lee Gibbs passed away after his short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. Brian was 38 years old.

He was born in Chandler, Ariz., on Oct. 10, 1974, to Roger Gibbs and Kathy Ransom.

Brian was a loving and caring man. He loved football, NASCAR and working in his yard.

Brian was a great friend to many and a hard worker. He loved his family very much and always made time for his niece and nephew.

Brian is preceded in death by his grandfathers Boyce Tate, Thurman Ransom and Alfred Gibbs; and grandmothers, Clara Gibbs, Betty Tate and Sybil Ransom.

He is survived by his mother, Kathy Ransom of Tow; fathers, Roger Gibbs of Sweetwater and Rick Ransom of Tow; sister, Terri Oestreich and husband Chris Oestreich of Tow; niece, Taelor Oestreich; nephew, Wyatt Oestreich; uncle Wayne Tate of Tennessee; aunts Becky Tate of Dallas, Debbie Tate of Colorado and Trudy Richard of Missouri; and numerous cousins.

A special thank-you to Scott & White Healthcare/Hospice, pastor Michael Puckett, Joe and Adam Mattingly and numerous family and friends for their prayers and support.

A graveside service is noon Sept. 13 at Tow Cemetery.
