Liberty Hill def. Burnet 7th A 10-25, 11-25

LIBERTY HILL — The Burnet Middle School seventh-grade A volleyball team lost 0-2 to Liberty Hill on Sept 9.

“The Lady Pups had a difficult time receiving the hard serves Liberty Hill was giving us,” coach Holly Hafley said. “We struggled to get momentum.”

LIBERTY HILL — The Burnet Middle School seventh-grade B volleyball team lost 0-2 to Liberty Hill on Sept 9.

The Lady Pups struggled with serve-receive in the first set, coach Tamura Hurts said. But Burnet began the second game with a lead.

“In the end, Liberty Hill’s serving took over, and we lost a hard-fought battle in the second game,” Hurst said.

LIBERTY HILL — The Burnet Middle School eighth-grade A volleyball team lost 0-2 to Liberty Hill on Sept 9.

The Lady Pups struggled with serving and hitting in the first set. But in the second game, Burnet showed its resolve, coach Holly Hafley said.

“We fought toe to toe with the Panthers,” she said. “Our defense looked better the second game as we battled it out.”

LIBERTY HILL — The Burnet Middle School eighth-grade B volleyball team lost 0-2 to Liberty Hill on Sept 9.

Coach Tamura Hurst said the Lady Pups began the contest on a positive note thanks to Kat Cain serving four straight points. But missed serves and struggles in returning serves allowed the Panthers to win the first set, Hurst said.

Liberty Hill immediately took control of the second set, but Burnet didn’t give up.

“I was very proud of how the girls did not give up and fought hard, but, in the end, we were unable to recover from the deficit,” Hurst said.

ON DEFENSE: Zoe Stubblefield, Ashlee Courtney.
