Marble Falls Mustangs control Brownwood in scrimmage

BROWNWOOD — After Brownwood scored on its first scrimmage drive against the Marble Falls High School football team Aug. 23, the Mustangs responded with a statement of their own.

Marble Falls drove 70 yards and capped it with a 19-yard touchdown toss to senior receiver J.T. Watson from sophomore quarterback Brennen Wooten.

In fact the next time the Lions scored, the Mustangs answered. Marble Falls forced its will and flexed some muscle to keep the Lions out of the end zone for the rest of the controlled and live portions of the scrimmage.

The Mustangs open the season at La Grange 7:30 p.m. Aug. 31 at Leopard Stadium, 820 S. Vail St. in La Grange. The game will be broadcast live on KBEY 103.9 FM.
