Guy Jeffery “Jeff” Carter, 59, formerly of Marble Falls, passed away Aug. 25, 2013, at his daughter April’s home in Austin. He was born March 3, 1954, in Denver, Colo., to Ralph Hensle and Donna Ann (Logan) Carter.

Jeff was a 1972 graduate of Marble Falls High School and played on the baseball team. He loved baseball and coaching T-ball and Little League.

He was a “jack of all trades” and did many things. He retired as a truck driver, working for Cen-Tex Cement and for Ingram Readymix. For the last 10 years or so he lived with his daughter April in Austin.

Jeff is survived by his daughters, April Castaneda and husband Roger of Austin and Jennifer Mead and husband Rob of Marble Falls; brother Brad Carter and wife Michelle Carter of St. Cloud, Fla.; mother, Donna Carter of Kingsland; and grandchildren, Isabell Castaneda, Cory Castaneda, Elena Castaneda, Becca Mead and Lucas Mead.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph, and brother Bryan Carter.

A memorial service is 5 p.m. Aug. 27 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373, with Mark Mayfield and Nick Shock officiating. Jeff’s family asks memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association or, since he loved animals, to the SPCA.
