KBEY 103.9 FM Radio Picayune celebrating with Burnet, Marble Falls open houses

FROM STAFF REPORTS

MARBLE FALLS — KBEY 103.9 FM Radio Picayune is throwing open the doors Aug. 19 and 23 to let listeners and community members have a peek behind the scenes.

The radio station is hosting an open house at its Marble Falls and Burnet studios. That’s right, KBEY has a new studio on the square in Burnet.

KBEY 103.9 FMAmber Weems, president of Victory Publishing Inc., which owns KBEY and The Picayune, said the company has been wanting to establish a more visible Burnet presence.

“We’re excited about bringing KBEY back to the heart of Burnet because we feel our radio station is the heart of the community,” Weems said. “It’s just another way we’re continuing our commitment to the community, whether it’s KBEY, The Picayune or one of our other products and services.”

The Marble Falls open house is 11 a.m. Aug. 19 at the KBEY studio, 1007 Ave. K. After a ribbon cutting, people are invited to tour the studios. Tours will continue throughout most of the day.

On Aug. 23 at 10 a.m., people can join KBEY at the Burnet studio, 138 S. Main St. on the square, for a ribbing cutting and tours.

Along with touring the facilities, it’s a great way to meet the KBEY 103.9 FM Radio Picayune staff and “faces” behind the voices.

Weems said having two studios gives KBEY the flexibility to produce shows and conduct programming at both locations. The staff will use both studios at different times.
