Rachel Click passed away July 15, 2013. She was born in Granite Falls, N.C., on Sept. 6, 1945, to Marvin W. and Violet Shuford Ingle. After meeting Billy Click in Cocoa Beach, Fla., they were married June 22, 1968, in Dry Ponds, N.C., and lived a good, happy life.

She was a graduate of Brevard College in Brevard, N.C., and Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C., and taught high school English in Florida, North Carolina and Texas. After moving to Nacogdoches in 1970, she was the executive secretary to the president and editor of University Publications at Stephen F. Austin State University for many years. Later, she started the House of Versailles Perfumery in Nacogdoches, which she ran until moving to Billy’s hometown of Llano in 1999.

Rachel was active in the Pilot Club of Nacogdoches and started the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority chapter at Stephen F. Austin University. After moving to Llano, she was active in St. James Lutheran Church and the Llano Women’s Culture Club.

Rachel was a teacher, a business woman, a homemaker and an excellent cook and loved to read. Those who got to taste one of her pecan pies were indeed fortunate. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and took particular delight in spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren and was known to them as Grandma Precious.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Billy Click of Llano; son, Daniel Click and wife Brittany and their children Cody and Casey Click, all of Brownwood; son David Click and wife Haley and their children Brady and Maggie Click, all of Seguin; parents, Marvin and Violet Ingle of Granite Falls, N.C.; sister, Marie Winter and husband Walt of Morganton, N.C.; nephew, Scott Ingle and wife Angie and their children Taylor and Seth Ingle, all of Granite Falls, N.C.; and aunt, Ruth Snyder of Hudson, N.C.

Preceding her in death were daughter, Kerrie Marie Click, and brother, Basil Ingle.

A funeral service is 10 a.m. July 19 at St James Lutheran Church with burial in the Llano City Cemetery. Pallbearers are Scott Ingle, Seth Ingle, Greg Tatum, Paul Tatum, Wesley McFarland, Steve McFarland, Michael McFarland and Greg McFarland.

Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church in Llano or the charity of your choice.
