Sheriff: Tow man dies after saving wife, children in mobile home fire
FROM STAFF REPORTS
TOW — A Tow man is dead after apparently rescuing his wife and three small children from a mobile home fire, according to the Llano County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident happened July 5 at the residence in the 700 block of Edna Street in the community of Tow, northwest of Llano.
“From what we understand right now, apparently they were burning trash outside the house. The house caught fire,” Llano County Sheriff Bill Blackburn said. “They got the wife and kids out and for some reason he went back in.”
The identity of the man, who is in his 30s, is being withheld, pending further investigation.
“There was fairly decent wind,” Blackburn said. “(The fire) ran through the house before he could get out.”
The State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.
Llano County remains under a ban on outdoor burning due to the fire danger.
