OBITUARY: Peggy Jo Holcomb, 71, of Llano dies July 1, 2013

Peggy Jo Holcomb of Llano passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 at the age of 71 years. Peggy was born September 24, 1941 in Vicksburg, Miss. to Robert F. Hawkins and Marzella Francis (Crane).  Peggy moved to Llano with her family when she was a senior and spent the rest of her life in Llano. She married Jackie Holcomb on November 3, 1962 in Llano. Peggy was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Llano Volunteer Fire Department; she worked at Winn’s Dime Store in Llano for many years and was a member of Pittsburg Avenue Baptist Church.

Peggy is survived by her son, Gordon Ray Holcomb and wife Ruby of Llano; daughter-in-law, Kay Holcomb of Marble Falls; sisters Fay Ann Brewer, Rosena Ahrlett and husband Irvin and Doris Hall; brother Bobby Hawkins and wife Nancy of Llano; three grandchildren, Desirae Lynn Holcomb, Dalton Lee Holcomb and Emma Louise Holcomb as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jackie Holcomb in 2007, son Sammy Holcomb, parents Robert and Marzella Hawkins as well as brother Johnny Hawkins.
Viewing will begin July 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. and visitation will be held 6-8:00 p.m. with the family at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 East Sandstone in Llano.

Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home chapel July 5, 2013 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Brett Willis officiating. Burial will follow at the Holcomb Cemetery, 7493 West Texas 29 in Llano. Pallbearers will be Larry Otto, Sammy Rogers, Donnie Hopson, Perry Roemer, Keith Morgan and Clifford Anderson.
