Llano County issues burn ban

LLANO — The Llano County commissioners instituted a county-wide burn ban June 24.
Under the ban, no open fires are allowed. If cited, a person faces a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by a fine up to $500.
According to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor index, Llano County remains under a severe drought.
Officials with the Lower Colorado River Authority state that it doesn’t appear as if any drought-busting storms are on the horizon this summer and predict average or below-average precipitation.
