COTTONWOOD SHORES — A long-time fixture at City Hall and in Cottonwood Shores, Janet Taylor-Carusi resigned as the city administrator.
Carusi has held the position for almost two years and has been involved with the city in different capacities since 2004.
“I felt like it was time for me to move on and pursue other things in my life,” Carusi said. “I chose this time to retire, to do some traveling and other things I want to do.”
Carusi’s resignation is set to be accepted during the council’s regular meeting June 6. According to the meeting’s agenda, the council is expected to appoint the mayor, recently elected Donald Orr, as the acting city administrator until the vacancy is filled.
An executive session item is also posted on the agenda to discuss an interim city administrator.
Also on the agenda, the council is set to discuss which city road will be paved as part of the Burnet County interlocal agreement and allowing swimming in city parks.
The council meets at 6:30 p.m. June 6 at City Hall, 3808 Cottonwood Drive.
